Super Guarantee and minimum wage increases are coming

From 1 July, the Super Guarantee rate will increase by 0.05% making it 10.5% for each staff member. These increases are legislated to increase annually until 2025.

When setting staffing levels and payroll budgets, you should also take into account the annual minimum wage increase which will also come into effect from 1 July. The increase amount hasn’t been announced yet but we will let you know once it is.

With winter just around the corner, you should also be encouraging staff to have the COVID booster and flu vaccination. These fall under your WHS obligations but could also benefit your organisation’s productivity over winter because no business can afford to have multiple staff away on sick leave.

Unlike last year, both vaccinations can be given at the same time so if your staff ask for time off to be vaccinated, encourage them to have their flu and COVID jabs at the same time.
